Farmwave 2025 Wrap-Up and 2026 Outlook.

2025 has been a defining year for the global agriculture industry—a year characterized by "stamina" rather than ease. For AgTech specifically, it was a year of reckoning where only the most practical, ROI-positive technologies survived. Amidst a landscape of venture capital contraction, extreme weather, and geopolitical volatility, Farmwave has not only survived but expanded. By focusing on the one metric that matters most to farmers in a down economy—retaining profit through harvest loss reduction—Farmwave has solidified its position as an essential tool for the modern farm.

The 2025 Agriculture Landscape: A Year of "Hard Realities"

The past year presented a "perfect storm" of challenges for growers worldwide, making efficiency more than a buzzword—it became a survival mechanism.

Geopolitical Volatility: Ongoing conflicts (specifically in Ukraine) and renewed trade tensions (US-China tariffs) disrupted traditional grain flows, creating wild swings in commodity prices. Farmers in Brazil and Argentina had to step up to fill supply gaps, while US growers faced uncertain export markets.

Weather Extremes: 2025 saw severe climate volatility. From floods in the United Kingdom and Brazil to intense heat and drought pockets in the US Midwest (Texas, Illinois, Indiana), harvest windows became shorter and more precarious.

The "Cost-Price Squeeze": While commodity prices fluctuated, input costs (seeds, fertilizer, labor) remained stubbornly high due to inflation. This compressed margins significantly, meaning farmers could not afford to leave a single bushel in the field.

The AgTech Sector: The Flight to Quality

The "growth-at-all-costs" era of AgTech investment officially ended in 2025.

The "Valley of Death": Venture capital funding for AgTech tightened significantly. Investors shifted their focus from moonshot concepts to companies with proven revenue models and immediate customer impact. Many startups that relied on hype over substance were forced to consolidate or shutter.

Adoption Hurdles: Farmers, facing tight margins, became extremely selective. They paused spending on "nice-to-have" experimental tech and doubled down on "must-have" efficiency tools.

The Winner: Technologies that could prove an immediate Return on Investment (ROI) were the only ones to see growth. This shift played directly into Farmwave's strengths.

Farmwave’s Resilience & Growth

While others contracted, Farmwave expanded. Why? Because in a tough year, harvest loss is a luxury no one can afford.

The Value Proposition Wins

In 2025, Farmwave’s Harvest Vision system wasn't sold as "futuristic AI"—it was sold as profit protection. With margins razor-thin, the ability to save 3-8+ bushels per acre translated directly to the bottom line. This tangible ROI allowed Farmwave to bypass the general AgTech skepticism.

Global Footprint & Key Markets

Farmwave’s 2025 World Tour was strategic, targeting regions where efficiency is paramount:

North America (USA & Canada): In the heart of the Corn Belt (Illinois, Indiana) and the plains of Texas, Farmwave helped growers maximize yields during a year of varied crop health. The expansion into Canada (officially charted for 2026 but with groundwork laid in 2025) marks a key move into canola and wheat markets.

South America (Brazil & Argentina): As these nations cemented their status as global breadbaskets, Farmwave’s presence was critical. The massive scale of operations here means that even a 1% reduction in loss translates to millions of dollars in recovered revenue.

Europe (Germany, UK, Ukraine):

Ukraine: Continued support in this region highlights Farmwave’s commitment to resilience. Helping Ukrainian farmers maximize every grain of their difficult harvests is a testament to the technology's impact.

Germany & UK: High input costs and strict environmental regulations drove adoption here, where precision is cultural and economic necessity.

Looking Ahead: The 2026 Roadmap

The momentum from 2025 has set the stage for aggressive expansion. The "2026 World Tour" map is already being drawn, with strategic entries into:

Australia: Targeting the massive wheat belts.

Eastern Europe (Romania, Czech Republic): Emerging powerhouses in European grain production.

South America (Paraguay, Uruguay): Deepening the footprint in the Southern Cone.

2025 proved that agriculture doesn't stop for markets, weather, or politics. It also proved that Farmwave is built for the long haul. By solving a fundamental problem—harvest loss—with reliable, autonomous technology, Farmwave has navigated the industry's downturn to emerge stronger, leaner, and more globally connected than ever before.

On Friday, August 22, Bruce Waibel along with his son Mark and one of their engineers, Ray, travelled to West Brooklyn, IL to attend a demo day Farmwave was hosting for new dealers and partners.

On Friday, August 22, Bruce Waibel along with his son Mark and one of their engineers, Ray, travelled to West Brooklyn, IL to attend a demo day Farmwave was hosting for new dealers and partners.

Solid Rock Ag Solutions is a family-owned business located near Remington, Indiana, primarily serving farmers in the Indiana counties of Jasper, Benton, Newton, White, Tippecanoe, Pulaski, Carroll and Clinton.

Founded by Bruce & Jody Waibel, who began farming full-time in 1986, Solid Rock Ag originated in 2004 as a Precision Planting dealer, selling, installing, and servicing their yield-boosting planter enhancements.

Currently, we have a staff of 11 operating in a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse and shop. Mark Waibel, Bruce & Jody’s son, is now co-owner of the business and also helps on what is now a five-generation family farm.

After a few hours going over the Farmwave Harvest Vision System, we went to visit Solid Rock Ag the following Monday at their home in Remington, IN.

We spent some time together at Farm Progress during the rest of that week, and decided to partner together.

In 2023, Solid Rock Ag began building custom planters. Sourcing components from Harvest International and Precision Planting, they can build the planter of your dreams, to your exact specifications!

And in 2024, after testing them in their own fields, they added GTS aluminum combine heads.

Service is the priority

In addition to selling a full range of aftermarket and specialty ag equipment, they provide customer support and service that is second to none. With nearly 100 years of combined experience in precision and production agriculture, Solid Rock Ag staff provide no-nonsense, knowledgeable recommendations and skilled support.

And with one of the largest parts inventories of any planter specialist in the country — plus hydraulic hose parts and much more — they can provide what you need to quickly get back up and running.

Education first

Their philosophy is to provide helpful information to farmers, not push product. They feel more comfortable giving helpful information than they are at selling. That’s why they put on regular continuing education/training seminars.

Solid Rock Ag ... welcome to Farmwave.

It's no secret that Farmwave works on peanuts, especially with the University of Georgia. Farmwave and the UGA College of Agriculture and Environmental Services, (CAES), have been working together for years. Farmwave's founder & CEO, Craig Ganssle also served on the industry advisory committee with UGA.

The autonomous measurement of peanut losses began at UGA under the direction of Dr. Simerjeet Virk who helped Farmwave learn more about measuring these losses during both the digging and the picking process.

Now, in 2025, through additional collaboration, Dr. Virk continues working with Farmwave, this time as the Associate Professor & Extension Specialist, Precision Ag & Machinery Systems at Auburn University.

Peanuts are a common crop grown in the Southeast United States, but there is a lot also grown in Brazil and Argentina, and area Farmwave is growing in rapidly.

Through combined efforts, Farmwave will continue to add features to loss measurements of peanuts such as peanut quality and cause of losses through measurement and inspection of the peanut branches, as one example.

We look forward to working with Dr. Virk at Auburn University, as well as continued efforts with the University of Georgia. 🥜

Farmwave’s team visited HAYNES AGRICULTURAL LIMITED in Q3 2024 to demonstrate our harvest loss capabilities on wheat.

In addition to monitoring losses, Haynes wanted to place Farmwave cameras within the machine to monitor potential losses out the back of the machine before they got to the spreader chopper. This was a novel application of Farmwave, but it was a useful opportunity to trial the technology.

Turns out, we were able to see better than we thought, and can monitor losses at a very early stage of accuracy.

In 2025, Farmwave and Haynes Agriculture Group, Ltd will partner to continue to run trials and bring Farmwave’s harvest loss technology to the United Kingdom.

"At Haynes Agricultural, we are committed to adopting new technologies that genuinely benefit farmers. So, when the chance to collaborate with Farmwave arose, we seized it without hesitation.", said Owen Down, Haynes Tech Hub

We look forward to continuing to build this network of farmers in the UK, and help reduce waste through harvest loss measurement automation.

Farmwave One: Building the Future

Developing cutting-edge technology for agriculture—especially hardware—comes with a unique challenge: timing.

Developing cutting-edge technology for agriculture—especially hardware—comes with a unique challenge: timing.

At Farmwave, our primary focus is on the Harvest season. In North America, where we’re based, this critical period lasts just 90 days each year.

That means we have only 90 days to:

Test new features and hardware

Fix bugs and troubleshoot issues

Review feedback, recommendations, and requests

Provide support to our users

Handle new sales (since word-of-mouth spreads fastest during harvest)

That’s a very short window to do it all.

While we can sometimes travel to other countries during their harvest seasons, this comes with logistical and financial challenges. Coordinating schedules, hauling hardware across borders, and navigating unfamiliar regions take a lot of resources. We’re expanding internationally, but we remain committed to supporting our farmers and customers right here in our backyard..

The Journey to Today

Farmwave’s journey didn’t happen overnight. It took:

6 years of research and development to build a working prototype, develop the Farmwave AI, and collect the data to build out the models

2 years to refine two different prototype versions

Another year to develop a scalable production model

When we finally launched, demand skyrocketed—almost too fast. Keeping up within that 90-day harvest window was tough, but we were able to adapt, overcome, and continue to charge on.

We thought raising money would be the answer. More capital + more people = faster growth—right? Not quite. And in today’s economic climate, securing funding has been harder than ever.

AI startups, especially those in GenAI, seemed to have no trouble attracting investors.

But what if you’re solving complex problems that happen at the edge, in a specific industry, and your product has a critical 90 day window of actually being used? Investors weren’t necessarily beating a path to our door.

So, we kept going.

And now, in 2025, we’ve reached a major milestone: Farmwave will be releasing Farmbook One.

Here is what you can expect:

Introducing Farmwave One – Our Biggest Release Yet

This year, Farmwave is rolling out Farmbook One, our most advanced software update to date. Here’s what’s coming:

Auto-Move Support – GPS sensing for automatic session starting and stopping

Onboard Reports – Instantly review reports and data on the tablet right in the field

Smaller Data Package – 75% smaller, thanks to optimized cloud storage for high-threshold images

Upload Status Indicator – Know exactly when your data is syncing

Dynamic Graphs – Auto-adjusting for higher quality, resolution, and visualization

New Data Collection Mode – Expanding support for more crops

Live Feed – Check real-time camera feeds to ensure they’re calibrated the way you need them

Operator Recommendations – Combine adjustment suggestions for corn, beans, wheat, peanuts, and more (with small grains support coming in Q3–Q4 2025) thanks to Farmwave’s Gen AI.

Outlined Annotations – Enhanced callouts for more detailed analysis

Device/Account Association – Easily move devices between accounts via cloud OTA (like smartphones and tablets)

We’re setting our customers up for success with future capabilities within Farmwave One.

By 2027, Farmwave’s goal is to interface with the machine itself where these recommendations will, with your permission, autonomously manipulate the combine to reduce losses without human intervention sending alerts to farm managers when connected.

We’re even working on bringing back hand-held AI assisted solutions that bring the Farmbook out of the cab, to be used more throughout the farm. Pathogen and pest infestation identification, crop recommendations, communication, and more.

Farmwave One is a game-changer, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.

Thanks for being part of the Farmwave journey. Here’s to an exciting 2025!

Farmwave Introduces GenAI Recommendations in Farmwave One for 2025

Farmwave users have long asked for combine adjustment recommendations tailored to their specific brand and model.

Many operators struggle with knowing exactly what adjustments to make based on harvest losses detected by Farmwave—and where those losses are occurring on the combine. The assumption that all operators have this knowledge isn’t realistic, especially in an industry facing labor shortages. It’s already difficult to find someone who can simply show up on time and drive the combine, let alone an experienced operator who knows how to fine-tune it to minimize losses.

To address this, Farmwave is rolling out AI-powered adjustment recommendations for the Q3-Q4 harvest season. These recommendations will be available for corn, beans, wheat, peanuts, and cotton.

Here’s how it works: When Farmwave detects losses exceeding the set threshold, a simple on-screen pop-up will notify the operator and suggest specific adjustments. Thanks to Farmwave’s Generative AI, these recommendations will also be available in multiple languages.

Our recommendations are built on university research, industry articles, and the expertise of seasoned farmers who have been working the land for generations. Additionally, operators can contribute their own insights through an input feature, helping to refine and expand Farmwave’s AI knowledge base. This allows for learning at the edge—even when connectivity is unavailable.

We’re excited to bring this feature to farmers as we gear up for the 2025 harvest season.
