PXL_20260518_140559013I had the pleasure of attending Dell Tech world (DTW) the week of May 18-21 2026. It was an incredible experience and week of innovative discussions, listening to plans for future visions between Dell Technologies and companies like NVIDA and even Farmwave.

I had the honor of speaking during two sessions at DTW. Monday morning I spoke during a breakout session on sustainability at Dell Technologies and the careful consideration that goes into making Dell's products. It aligned well with Farmwave's connection to the agriculture industry. Wednesday I spoke during a Luminaire Series panel discussion hosted by Erik Day, Senior vice President, GM, Small & Medium Business at Dell Technologies. It was a pleasure to share Farmwave's story to such an engaging audience.

The week was full of keynotes from Michael Dell along with Jensen Huang and Jeff Clark, Chief Operating Officer at Dell Technologies. While Ai was certainly the forefront of most discussions, one thing that stood out was the changing perspective of bringing AI to where the dats is, versus bringing your data to where AI is in the cloud. The irony for me was that Farmwave has been doing this for more than a decade. It has always been imperative to make sure artificial intelligence can impact the farmer at the edge where they need it, without relying on connectivity to the cloud. Rural areas such as a farm in the middle of Mato Grosso, Brazil, or deep in the Midwest United States, or northern Saskatchewan, will not have the connectivity most rely on. While Starlink adds a new layer, there is still bandwidth and latency concerns when it comes to, more specifically, vision AI solutions. When multi-gigabit matters, it's going to require working at the edge.

While Farmwave's current Precision Harvest system runs on the Dell Pro Rugged Latitude 7230, we're looking at not only what else we can do with our AI for farmers and operators, but also how Dell can continue to support these new ideas with products and services that come alongside Farmwave to make it a reality.
